I’m Phill; a vfx artist specializing in phenomena, simulation, and procedural workflows. I have over 5 years of experience working in the creative industry. Houdini is my tool of choice when creating visual effects ranging from destruction to magic. I’m always trying to learn new skills to enhance my creative toolkit.

Houdini

I am fluent in simulation and procedural workflows using Houdini. I have experience setting up tools and digital assets to optimize productions. Creativity, problem solving, renderfarms, distributed simulations, and python are used often to solve complex problems and deliver art directed results.

Nuke

Compositing tool of choice. Another procedural powerhouse that enhances my 3D workflow.

Maya

Compliments my skillset in other 3D digital content creation apps. Proficient in lighting, rendering, and simulation.

Scripting

An essential tool for a technical artist. Python, Bash, CSH, HScript, Mel, and Vex are languages I am using most often to streamline production and create innovative toolsets.

Computer Hardware / Software

Experience with Linux, Unix, OSX, and Windows operating systems. Understanding of essential system architecture.

Problem Solving

No two effects are the same. Unique, art directable solutions require creative solutions and an open mind. Learning is part of the process.
