This was a test to see how far I could push a large scale pyro explosion. The render contains 1,200,000,000 voxels, yes, that’s 1.2 billion. The cpu time for simulation was around 18 hours and the render time was about 160 hours, but in real time all of this was done overnight. The simulation was created using Houdini and rendered with mantra.
